Artemis Sartzetakis (born 1999) is an Athens based multimedia artist working predominantly with performance, sculpture, as well as 3d visualisation and VR. They create work inspired by the complex and often co-emergent relationships that determine the natural world.

Due to their father's profession as an environmental economist, Artemis was raised to be highly aware of the climate crisis. This preoccupation with the reality of the degradation of the natural world manifests in a deep appreciation of the micro and macro concordant behaviors in nature.

The artist references such relationships through their sculptural work, human plant hybrid performances and virtual installations.

They have worked with various methods of casting to produce humanoid busts being permeated by amorphous structures akin to myxomycetes or other organic matter growing in tandem. Their latest performance project under the title Plasmo-Desma explores sees Performers with plant appendages tense their surroundings through their expanded body.  The next chapter in the artist’s work inhabits the virtual realm, allowing for physical limitations to be removed from the creative process.
